Former champion swimmer: Rania Elwani

Dr. Rania Elwani, the Egyptian swimmer was born on the 14th of October, 1977 .she started playing at AL AHLI club in Cairo . She also is a former African swimmer recorder for Egypt 1992 , 1996 and 2000. She is an Olympic, as well as a member of the Athlete Committee of the World Anti Doping Agency WADA . She attended and swam for the South Methodist University in USA from 1997 till 1999. She is also a Three-time Olympian in Swimming and participated in the 1992, 1996 and 2000 games. With a semi-finalist finish in 2000 and in the 50 and 100 free, Mediterranean Champion 1997 in the 50 and 100 free, runner-up in the 200 free.

World Championships Long course: participated in Rome and Perth, with a 10 place finish in Perth she is also World Championships Short Course: Hong Kong, 5 th place. World cup Series: 1993-1994 and 1994-1995 Overall ranking as the Second and Fifth. African Champion 1991-2000 Egyptian record holder for freestyle events (50,100,200,400), 100 fly and 100 back. 1991 Arab Champion 1991-2000. NCAA champion, 200 free relay Runner-up in the 100 free, 1999.American Junior National Champion and Swimmer of the meet and record holder, 1993. SEC (Southern Eastern Conference) Champion 1995-1996, U.S.A. she is now a member in the Egyptian parliament.
